TEN questions concerning sports and fitness – interview with Sophie Steiner, apprentice at Prime Sports Meerbusch, dual study of Sports-economy.

 

Is there a special event from your childhood related to sports?

As a child I used to try everything. From handball over fencing to rescue swimming, but I found at the age of 20 my one and only passion in martial arts.

What was the reason to do some sports?

I’ve always been quite active and without sports I’m just not complete. My trainings are an inherent part of my life.

What’s your favorite sports and why?

I really love martial arts. It is the perfect way between an extreme exertion, variety and concentration. My favourite is boxing, but I really love to train Muay Thai, Karate and jiu-jitsu as well.

Where do you get your motivation from?

There is no better feeling than after a hard training. The pride and the euphory is amazing.

What kind of fitness exercises do you like most?

I’m a huge fan of push ups. There are lot’s of varieties to train different groups of muscles.

How does your current training schedule look like?

If time permits I train 4 -5 times a week mixed martial arts like boxing, karate or grappling and some functional training before or after that.

How do you feed on?

I eat quite healthy and balanced, but I have a huge weakness for ice-cream, so sometimes I allow myself some.

What are your professional and sporting goals in the future?

I want to enthuse people with sport and everything in conjunction with. And I would love to find their way with them together.
